Detection Dogs

The increasingly widespread availability of illegal drugs can lead to their introduction, and use in entertainment venues or in the workplace. Faced with this situation, the potential consequences for a company and the safety of its employees and customers needs little explanation.

As part of effective and robust policy for dealing with substance misuse, Direct Security Group drugs detection dog teams can be used to deter and detect drugs in the entertainment or work environment. They are capable of locating all the most common substances including Heroin, Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Ecstasy, Amphetamines, LSD, Cannabis, Spice, Ketamine etc.

If you have a need to utilise explosive detection dogs to enhance the security of your premises, DSG can provide you with the highest calibre of detection teams.

We will respond quickly and discreetly, with a senior member of the search dog team discussing your requirements in total confidence. They will then provide a survey to confirm the level of search support you require from our detection teams.  We can ensure the training and preparation for both dog and handler is bespoke to the task.

The teams can operate through licenced premises, offices; conference and exhibition centres; factories, depots and warehouses. Our detection dogs are capable of working passively, screening individuals on entry without direct contact, or proactively searching defined areas including open spaces, vehicles and buildings. The method of operation is entirely up to you the client, with our priority being to avoid disruption to your business, whilst still performing our tasking.

Confidentiality and discretion are key factors in these scenarios, and our teams act in solely  in accordance our clients company policy. They report directly to company management and always proceed with the utmost of tact and diplomacy.

We work with corporate management, event organisers and licenced premises to simply act as a deterrent to potential drug use, or to identify the presence of illegal substances. This can be a vital tool in ensuring the safety of customers and staff, as well as demonstrating to licencing authorities that due care is being exercised in combating substance abuse.

All Dog Teams are accredited to level 2 or 3 by NTIPDU, NASDU or BIPDT and are compliant with BS 8517-2:2016. We act in accordance with The Guard Dogs Act 1975, The Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and Home office codes of practice.
